Financial literacy programs for organizations supporting immigrants

Raiz Madi works with cooperatives, community centers, and immigrant support networks to bring structured financial education directly to the people who need it most.

Financial education works better in community

Immigrants navigating a new financial system rarely do so in isolation. They talk to neighbors, colleagues, and community members. They compare experiences. They ask questions in informal settings before they ever walk into a bank.

This is why cooperatives and community organizations are such effective channels for financial education. The trust is already there. The relationships exist. Raiz Madi provides the structured educational content; the organization provides the context and the community.

Our modules are designed to be delivered by facilitators who do not need to be financial experts. The content is self-contained, clearly structured, and written to generate discussion rather than deliver lectures.

What the educational program includes

Each module is designed to stand alone or connect with others, depending on your organization's needs.

Understanding the Banking System

A foundational session explaining how Argentina's banking sector is structured, what types of accounts exist, and how the regulatory environment shapes everyday banking. Designed for participants with no prior knowledge of the Argentine system.

Documentation Pathways

A practical walkthrough of the documentation typically required for banking access, including identity documents, residency certificates, CUIL and CUIT numbers, and proof of address. Includes a Q&A framework for participants to identify their own documentation status.

Currency and Inflation Literacy

An educational session on Argentina's monetary environment. Covers the official exchange rate, the role of inflation in financial planning, and the distinction between formal and informal channels. Designed to build understanding, not to make recommendations.

Budgeting in a New Context

A session on how to think about budgeting and financial organization when prices change frequently and income may be irregular. Provides frameworks for thinking about expenses, savings, and financial priorities without prescribing specific strategies.

Early Financial Decisions

A session focused on the financial decisions newcomers commonly face in their first months in Argentina, from choosing where to keep money to understanding how different types of payments and transfers work. Helps participants identify the right questions to ask before making decisions.

Facilitator Support

Raiz Madi provides facilitator guides, discussion prompts, and supplementary materials for each module. We also offer introductory orientation sessions for organizations adopting the program for the first time, so facilitators feel confident running the content.

Organizations this program serves

The program is designed for organizations that already have relationships with immigrant communities and want to add structured financial education to what they offer. You do not need to be a financial institution. You need to have the community connection.
